Biography

Julika Hing is a German-American mezzo-soprano, who is based in Karlsruhe, Germany. She is active as an
opera and oratorio singer and performs with independent chamber concerts. Julika Hing has a special inclination towards contemporary music and interdisciplinary performance. In the past few years, she initiated and carried out several cross over projects.

The mezzosoprano was born 1998 and grew up near Überlingen at the Lake of Constance. Since 2019, she studies voice at Karlsruhe University of Music with Prof. Maria Venuti, Prof. Hanno Müller-Brauchmann and Prof. Christiane Libor. In 2023, Julika Hing reached the finals at Deutscher Musikwettbewerb, was adopted into the follow up support program of Deutscher Musikrat and received a special price for her extraordinary artistic work. Also in 2023, Julika Hing received a schollership by Yehudi Menuhin „Live Musik Now“, through which she is able to combine her musical talent with social engagement. To refine her musical skills, Julika Hing participated at masterclasses with Bernarda Fink, Prof. Ulrike Sonntag and Prof. Regina Werner-Dietrich.
